Pardon My Nails 3: Toe Version

And I'm back! :)

Already a month and am still adjusting with my normal life on a morning shift. This is what you got for being used to the graveyard shift for the past three years. :)

This is one of the products that I've got from the Blogapalooza event last October, the Caronia Blue Moon Special Collection.

I tried the Chasse, which is under the shade of blue, and this time on my toe nails.

(Nail polish For Today) NFTD Chasse

Looks good! And this is after cleaning the excess nail polish that went across the borders. :) Still messy even on applying nail polish on my toe nails. Especially with that very small toe nail that I have.

The nail polish will definitely last longer with a base coat to protect your toe nails or finger nails, and a top coat to protect it from chipping off.

I'll be using the other two colors soon, Avant (green shade) and Bourree (orange shade) and see if they would also match my skin. I just felt that any nail polish should compliment your skin too. It's like an accessory, everything should go along with your outfit.

Then after trying the Blue Moon Collection, i'll be trying the other nail polishes that I've got as a prize from Caronia.

Party, Costumes, Trending on Halloween

It was last month when I join in a new company (this one will be on a separate blog).

Malls and offices have their own Halloween events like costume parties and trick or treat for the kids, sales on costumes, pumpkin baskets, even face paint supplies got sold out!

And they had this announcement of having your best scary costume contest for the halloween party. Tenured employees there said that this is the first time they would be having this kind of event in their office.

And I thought I won"t be able to do any crafting in this new work place.

I decided to be the black angel, since I had this feeling that everyone will turn out into zombies just like in The Walking Dead series.

Just made my black wings with one of my leftover cartoons, then used some of the supplies that I still have from the previous decors that we have used. Lucky me, for I was able to find a black cartolina and crepe paper for my wings. I placed the cartolina for the innner part of the wings, and the cut-out feathers from the crepe paper for the outside part of the wings.  I also used wires to make the wings sturdy. And just colored the masking tape black with a pentel pen. And of course I can't wear the wing without a garter and used some velcro to support the wings from my back.

My second props was my bloody sword, it's made of wood (palo tsina). Got it from our dirty kitchen and carved it into a sword. Went back to my supplies where I still have a silver and gold poster paint which I used to paint the wooden sword. And to make it bloody, I used red poster paint.

Yes, poster paint is not for wood, but if you are not into spending for just a one day event the poster paint will be just fine. The paint wears off easily with water.

my black wings and bloody sword.

I was just wearing a black spaghetti strap blouse, black skirt and shoes, and used Caronia's Black Velvet Nail Polish.

me, my zombie friend and my angel of death friend.
Did not put on any make-up, just powder, lipstick and eyeliner. A lot of competitors in this office though. Everyone really participated. Who would not like a 1500.00 php for the grand prize? Yes, you might say the prize is not that extravagant, but hey! Anyone can add it up on their savings or allowance, right?

And of course, what is a party without food!

Not expecting to win this one, but if I could get the consolation prize, it's fine with me.

Note: Photo Credit to my office mate Job Tulan (for the last pic that I posted).

My First Blogapalooza

Last October 11, 2014 was the most awaited event for bloggers, newbies or not. The Blogapalooza 2014 was held at the SMX Aura in Taguig.

My first time to attend such event and I got caught in traffic, I decided to take the bus since I was worried that I might get stranded with some mechanical issues with MRT, oh well!

Think I got there at about 11:30 AM. I never get to see Mikey Bustos personally (Yes, he was there but he can't stay that long). Bogart the Explorer was also there and was able to visit the participating booths for a few hours.

A back drop provided near the registration area where guests can take their pictures.

The blogger's ID, also serves as a passport to the booths you have visited where vendors needs to sign at the back. I never get to complete them.

Yellow Cab provided big slices of pizza for their guests.

One of the fun activities at Blogapalooza, Design your Doughnut by Krispy Kreme.

My Krispy Kreme doughnut.

The electric fan without blades by Dyson, and it's cool like an air conditioner. I like the idea.

Chicken mascots everywhere, one from Chooks to Go and the other one from Max's.

Chooks to Go had a game on stage, fastest fingers first to provide the correct answer!

Once you visit their Chooks to Go Kwelahan booth, they also have special prizes for those playing as well, not to mention you will take home one whole chicken!

DJ's Nicole Hyala and Chris tsuper of 90.7 Love Radio hosting a segment.

Maxene Magalona speaks for Flawless and had a short interview by host Vince Golangco.

RX 93.1's DJ Karen Bordador talks about www.sistersecrets.com.ph. I salute her for being a good sport, why? Imagine talking in front of hundreds of guests and your skirt keeps on flowing up wards (I guess there's a blower or something in front of the stage). Good thing she has a short inside it, but then again its really distracting if your talking.

De La Salle's volleyball player and former PBB housemate Michele Gumabao (yes, with a single "L") talks about cyber bullying and how she had overcome it.

Acer's they have a photo booth, you can post your picture on your Instagram account and get to win a special prize. They have given away two smart phones on that day with a question and answer portion on stage. Next time, i'll join!

And I was surprised seeing that Crocs have shoes now, from kids to adults with lots of designs and colors to choose from.

And I do believe this is where most of the female bloggers went. Maxene Magalona had her pictures taken with guests at the Flawless booth.

Though there is this one booth that I really did not like. I don't know if It was just me or what. It's like I went to their booth for like three times but I never get to be introduced to what their product really is. I never even get to register either. It's like they favor talking to the male bloggers instead.

And there was this lady that was really rude (I can't remember from what booth she belongs to), I was talking to the staff of Imagine Nation Photography when she suddenly appeared in front of us and started handing out their fliers and was trying to introduce their product or services. I do believe there's a rule about this, she should wait for the person to approach their booth and not approaching the person who is at another booth. Since I am really not interested on what she was saying I decided to leave and was not able to finish what me and the staff of Imagine Nation was already discussing. Hope they could set this rule clear next time.

Though I had a hard time being with the other mommy bloggers at the event because I was roaming around visiting the booths most of the time. Yes, my feet and arms hurt and decided to sit and rest and listen to the speakers. I had a lot of loot bags to bring home. But I enjoyed the whole day at the Blogapalooza. It was really fun!

Hoping to attend again for the next Blogapalooza!

Congratulations to the organizers When In Manila and Our Awesome Planet!

Chowking's Happy Pao

I need to get to the office early one time, since I'm a bit hungry and was craving for siopao, I thought I would pass by one of the fast food chains at the mall.

Yes, I went to Chowking. Was planning to get two large chunky asado siopao (not obvious that I'm that hungry), but the girl at the counter said there's only one left, and then she offered me the happy pao.

I looked at the menu board and was hesitant at first, there were two variants, the Porky Pao, which has the same filling as the chunky asado siopao and the Panda Pao, that has a chocolate filling. I don't know how long I was standing infront of the counter before I decided to get the Porky pao (good thing there's no one behind me, :) )

And indeed, this Porky pao did not fail my taste buds, It was really good! Though it was only on its merienda size, but there's so much asado filling inside.

For only P39.00 for ala carte orders, and P49.00 if you wanted to have drinks with it. They are also offering it for P117.00 for 3 pieces of Happy Pao (any variant).

The presentation of these siopao really attracts people to buy it even though they are not available on large sizes, and it's a good take home for the kids too!

I'll be trying the Panda Pao next time. And hoping they could have these in large sizes in the future.

So, which of the Happy Pao is your favorite?

Pardon My Nails 2

And I have been trying to put nail polish on my nails perfectly for the past few days. And I have been combining different brands of nail polishes.

The first one, OMG Sunset Nail Polish and Girl Stuff spotted nail polish. The OMG Sunset is more on the orange shade (good thing one of my best friend was not able to see this shade on my nails, or else, friendship’s over. Lol! She just doesn’t like orange). Then I saw the rest of the girls using a different color on one of their nails, specifically the one on the ring finger. But since my imagination is working and I wanted to be different, I topped a spotted Girl Stuff nail polish on the nails of my pointer finger.

Still messy on putting nail polish on, but I’m not giving up. I know I can do it (someday).
And since I loooooove pink, I tried the OMG First Date nail polish (a baby pink one). But obviously, it is not blending well with my morena skin. And yes, still messy on applying this one too.

The one that I tried recently was Sparkling Maroon and Electric Blue of Girl Stuff nail polish. And I thought blue would not be a good shade on my nails, but It looks very nice.

And I am proud of this one, not so messy on applying the nail polish! And of course, don’t forget to apply a top coat.

So, what shade of nail polish have you tried recently?

The Newbie Blogger

I loved writing, started with poems and short stories when I was in high school, and it was developed when I went to college. My college friends already knows that when I am sooooo quiet and I have my pen and notebook in front of me, it's like a big DO NOT DISTURB SIGN flashing in front of them when they were supposed to tell me something and I just give them "the look".

Once something came into my mind, I need to write it down right away, even though I'm on a bumpy jeep ride or on a bus. I need to do it there and then, or else I'll just forget everything (or some part of it).

I started blogging May of this year. I was personally invited by the admin of Mommy Bloggers Philippines to try blogging. I was hesitant at first, but then again, why not? So, the writer inside me just came out again in the open.

I now have 5 blogs (and this is my 6th, and hoping to have more).

And there goes the Blogapalooza event happening on September 20, 2014 at the SM Aura.

I registered for the event, and waited, and waited for the confirmation. I was already in envy knowing that the other mommy bloggers are already confirmed for the event. And as I opened my email last September 1 (it's like 1:30 AM, if I remembered it right), I saw the email confirmation!

"I'm in! I'll be part of the event! I'm a newbie, but i'll be part of it!

I wanted to scream because of excitement (but of course, I can't or my mom would kill me for disturbing their sleep, hehehe!).

As the picture says it all, "Blogging is Life". Yes, it is for most moms whom I already know, and this is going to be a part of mine too.

To all the mommy bloggers out there, I salute you for spending time blogging aside from your busy schedule as a stay at home mom (SAHM) or a working mom. Thank you for sharing your experiences, product reviews, parenting tips, DIY projects, and a lot more to mention.

Hoping that I would be able to share wonderful blogs to everyone as well.

Happy Blogging!

Pardon My Nails

I am not really into nail polish, but I think I am starting to like them, or should I say love them now.

We are not quite busy at the office lately and the rest of the girls were busy doing their stuffs, yes! - the nail beautification. What else do you expect from an all girl team? Well, we do have a male though, our  supervisor.

I can't remember who bought the first set of nail polishes in our team, at first there were only like 3 colors available, and as the days passed by more shades were provided, including those with glitter effects and polkadots.

The shade that I used is Bikini by OMG (Oh My Golly). I really loved the red and pink colors on my nails. And obviously I am a certified newbie on the art of coloring nails, see how messy I have applied the nail polish on my picture. :)

One of these days I'll be able to do it perfectly, as the saying goes "Practice makes it Perfect".

The 6th Babypalooza Bazaar

I went on a "me time" last August 17 and was supposed to attend two events, but due to the sudden heavy rains that Sunday Morning, one event at the U.P. Town Center was forced to cancel since their venue got flooded.

So, I went on a walkathon from U.P. Town Center to Ateneo de Manila University. Yes, you read it right, I walked when I was supposed to take a jeepney ride. I assumed that the two venues were just near, and after walking past two blocks I realized that it's not that near after all. But then, I already started walking, so a little exercise won't hurt (pinanindigan ko na lang ang paglalakad).

I went to the Babypalooza Bazaar, a two day event held last August 16 and 17, 2014 which started from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM at the Walter Hogan Conference Center in Ateneo de Manila University (near gate 3).

The registration area. Visitors will get a passport type booklet where they need to complete the boxes with vendor's stickers, after shopping they just need to present the booklet and they shall receive a gift from Babypalooza.
The entrance welcomes the visitors with a large digital frame.
The team is spearheaded by organizers Celeste and Kat. They started way back November of 2012 for their first ever Babypalooza Bazaar.

The bazaar is a baby and mommy fair in Metro Manila, Philippines which caters to new and expectant parents, not to mention the new and expectant grandparents too!

The organizers of the Babypalooza Bazaar.
Visitors of the event will be able to find pre-loved items (still in great condition) and brand new products and services for babies, toddlers and mommies (and now even for daddies).

Entrepreneurs who are new or still striving to be known by the public can join their bazaar to promote their products and services by joining as one of their vendors or sponsors.

The mascots entertaining the visitors and kids at the bazaar.

The first time I joined their bazaar was with my officemate promoting my services for personalized mugs as souvenir items. After some observation and having enough budget, I joined them again as My Pink Dragon for the 4th Babypalooza Bazaar last November 23, 2013 selling/promoting baby and kids products with my sister selling authentic Jansport bags.
Our booth, #38.
The 7th Babypalooza Bazaar would be something that newbie and expecting parents (let's include the grandparents, along with the aunts and uncles) will look forward to.

The organizers of the Babypalooza Bazaar also have their own actual store, The Spotted Elephant located at #38 Magiting corner Mahiyain Streets, Teachers Village, Quezon City.

Note: I would like to apologise for this late blog, was having some internet connection issues for the past weeks.

Team Lunch at Guevarra's

The food lovers most awaited prize, our team lunch!

BACK TRACK:
From the "Kasalang Bayan 2014" blog, we won the grand prize of 2500.00php. Instead of dividing the amount amongst us, we agreed to have a team lunch instead.

And with the help of our bff G (google.com), we decided to try Chef Laudico Guevarra's.

The place was an old house which the Laudico's bought through a friend, since the place really has a relaxing ambiance which is what they wanted to have for a new restaurant, they kept the original style of the house as it is, with some minor renovations made.

We were aiming for this one room with the round table, but another group was able to reserve it ahead of us. You can do walk-in, but I highly suggest to make a reservation. We had our schedule on a Monday lunch (July 14 to be exact), but still, there were a lot of people who had made their reservations for a Monday.

Our table, good for 6 to 8 guests.

The part of the buffet table, this is one of the things I really need to improve on. Once I got near the buffet table, I automatically get a plate, then I would realize I need to take some pictures. :D

My plate, with the famous Angus Beef Tapa, which is really good! The Lumpiang Shanghai, and I just loved how they cooked the Grilled Squid, it's soft and easy to chew, not like the usual na makunat. Of course, the shrimp always gets into my plate. :)

Pardon me for this picture, I already had a taste of this Brazo de Mercedes before taking the picture (again, one of my weakness).

The Ice Cream, they only have two flavors though, Vanilla and Chocolate. Hope they could have more flavors in the future. And it's not the one's like you need to scoop it, but the ones in those ice cream dispensers like in those fast food chains. Both flavors were good, but more options on ice cream flavors would be better.

The Friend Chicken Adobo was good, but I found it a bit dry. The Beef Caldereta, the beef was cooked just fine, loved it as well.

They also have an outdoor setting, which is fine as long as it doesn't rain of course.
