The Ramen Empire Journey with Tomochan

Seichoyo Group Inc. envisioned Tomochan Ramen Express to become the next symbol of Japanese culture in the Philippines as the company believes that establishing Tomochan will further cultivate and strengthen the JaPinoy friendship by making authentic Japanese cuisine more affordable and reachable to every Filipino.

Tomochan Ramen Express is founded by Akiko Okamoto. She wants to share the authentic Japanese delight to the Filipino community and to the rest of the world at a very reasonable price without sacrificing its quality and tatse. Okamoto took the bold step of the journey by opening its first store in Angeles City, Pampanga on July 2017. She believes and lives with the undying dream that Tomochan Ramen Express will be the new "daily ramen" that every individual would consider as their ultimate comfort food.
The company thought of something that will be recognized as "Solid Friendship" and a bond of endearment.
Now, let's have a little trivia here.

"Tomo" was derived from the word Tomadachi, which is a Japanese term for "a friend".

"Chan" is being used for Miss/close friends/little children and sometimes even used for couples/loved ones.

And that's where they decided to have the word Tomochan, which means a solid friendship that promotes love, loyalty and dedication.

Tomochan currently have 5 stores. They have 2 stores in Angeles City, located the Marquee Mall and New Point Mall. They have 1 at Santa Rosa, Laguna located at Solenad Mall. In Makati City, they have 1 at the LKG Tower. And yes, to the people from the far north, they have one at Ayala Fairview Terraces, located at Food Choices. Kanako Takizawa, General Manager of Tomochan also mentioned  that they prefer food court locations instead of getting an actual store or restaurant set-up.

And yes, this is a budget friendly meal. Imagine eating ramen that starts for only P99.00! They even have rice meals for only P79.00!

And I tried their Shoyu Basic, which includes half egg, 2 slices of pork meat and leek. The noodles itself already has its distinct flavor, definitely tatse like egg noodles. Though it has been a bit too salty, I think its because of the egg. It tatse like salted egg, but it's not. And I love the pork meat. Nicely cut and easy to chew. I would give it a 90%. Honestly, it was too salty for me. But just 1 bowl of their ramen you would already feel full. I dare you to try it!

If you are planning to dive into a business venture, you can check out on getting a franchise of Tomochan and be part of their growing ramen empire journey.
