It's A Vitacubes Funday!

It was definitely a great weekend spent with my Bunso last August 2 at The Fun Ranch, Ortigas.

A sponsored event hosted by Rebisco Corporation where kids enjoyed unlimited play at the Playdium, a magic show and good food! Not just that, we were also introduced to their new product, Vitacubes!

The Playdium
We all grew up knowing that candies are junk food from our moms. And yes, since we are now mommies too, we also inform our kids that candies is not just bad for their teeth but they also don't get any nutritional value in it.

But have you heard of a healthy candy? No, it is not a herbal candy thing, but a candy that aside from having a delicious taste, is it fortified with essential vitamins and minerals and its Recommended Energy and Nutritional Intake (RENI), which is important for growing children.

Let's meet Vitacubes! Vitacubes is a new product of Rebisco Corporation. A cube-shaped jelly candies that comes in five different fruit flavors - strawberry, apple, grape, orange and mango.

So, what are the nutritional content of these candies?

LYSINE Contains 70% of the child's RENI. Aids the body in proper growth and energy production. Also helps in calcium absorption.

ZINC Contains 70% of the child's RENI. Zinc is known to help in proper functioning of the immune and digestive systems, energy metabolism, and in increasing the rate of healing of wounds.

VITAMIN A Contains 40% of the child's RENI. Helps in increasing the body\s immunity to fight infections. Also plays an important role in ensuring healthy eyes and bone development.

VITAMIN B Supplies 30-70% of the child's RENI. Promotes growth and strength and stimulates memory in children in their formative years. Helps boost the oxygen circulation in the body, especially the brain, which in turn improved concentration. Helps convert carbohydrates and fats into energy.

VITAMIN C Supplies 30% of the child's RENI. Helps form and repair red blood cells, bones, and tissues. Helps your child 's gums stay healthy. Strengthens your child's blodd vessels, minimizing bruising from falls, and scrapes. Helps cuts and wounds heal, boosts the immune system and keeps infections at bay. Helps the body absorb iron from food resources.

VITAMIN E Supplies 45% of the child's RENI. Boosts the immune system and helps the body fight germs. Keep blood vessels open wide enough for blood to flow freely. Helps the cells of the body work together to perform many important functions.

Definitely, a healthy and yummy treat!

And it was not just the kids who participated in the games, but the mommies too!

Admin and Members of Mommy Bloggers Philippines

One of the mommies who participated for a magic trick.

I have phobia with snakes, but I need to face my fear just to have this picture taken with my Bunso. Of course, I don't want to loose that "Authority" factor that I have at home. Yes, this dragon does not like snakes at all!

And of course, who would not enjoy the photo booth by Funframes for FunRanch?

I was so dead tired that I slept right away when we got home, I woke up the next day and found out that my mom already removed some of the candies in its pack and transferred it in a sealed container. Good thing that there was still some packs that were not opened yet and was able to take this picture. And my mom liked it too!

Vitacubes is now available at all Mercury Drug outlets, SM Supermarkets, Robinson's Supermarkets, Waltermart, Landmark, Puregold, Ministop and local grocery stores.

These candies can be bought per box containing 10 pieces of 50g packs. They also have Vitacube singles for 1.00php per piece which are available at sari-sari stores, supermarkets and local grocery stores. The suggested retail price (SRP) for a 50g pack is only 12.00php. A very affordable price for a healthy candy.

Team Lunch at Hainanese Delights

We had our first ever Team Lunch with my new BPO company one Saturday, and the group decided to have our lunch at Hainanese Delights at SM City Fairview.

Good thing it was about 10:30 AM when we got there, since there was eight of us and some were having a hard time as to what food to eat when we got to the counter, just imagine when there's someone behind our group. And salute to the person who was very patient waiting for our orders behind the counter.

The rest of the crew are also very friendly and accommodating, always have smiles on their faces.

Just hoping they would have a bigger venue soon.

A Bite of Both for only 110.00php
And I ordered the A Bite of Both meal, a pork and shrimp siomai with hainan rice (unlimited!). Consists of 3 pieces of pork and 3 pieces of shrimp siomai. So yummy, love the rice too.

Hainan rice or Hainan chicken rice originally came from Hainan, Southern China but was famously known in Singapore. Honestly, you can eat the rice even without viand. That's how good their rice are.

After having a meet and greet with the rest of our team, our Team Leader gave an additional treat as our dessert, an ice cream cake.

Rocky Road Logs from Snow Joe Cream Cooler for only 250.00php
I love the concept of the ice cream cake, but it is so hard to slice it. We need to remove the strips of chocolate first to be able to slice it evenly. Unless, that's how they wanted it to be. Well, my team mate sliced the remaining part since I was having a hard time.
Team Asia
A little introduction of our team. My new team, My new Ohana (family, in hawaiian language). Looks like I have a very supportive Supervisor and colleagues to work with. A new pleasant working environment.

After I am done with all of the things that my children needs for the coming school year, I'll give them a treat as well. Though I don't know if my Bunso would like to eat here, since he is a big fan of Jollibee, Mcdo and KFC.

Another recommended place to eat out with family and friends.

Giving them a Four Stars Rating!

Big Burgers from Zark's

I had my first Zark's burger experience when I was still working at Ortigas, it was delivered and I can't even remembered what I ordered back then (talk about memory gap).

I get to experience it once again last Saturday, after we (me and my wavemates from the new BPO company) graduated from our training and decided to have a little celebration.

I tried the Bourbon Burger of Zark's, a mushroom cheeseburger with fresh tomatoes, lettuce and a very big burger patty in barbeque sauce, though I was expecting that it would have a lot of mushrooms included, but it was not as I expected. Yes, though the burger was really good, I felt a bit disappointed only to see a few small mushrooms in it.

My order was 145.00php and I just added 35.00php for my fries and iced tea, a total of 180.00php, not bad.

Though one order was served a bit late due to the cooking time required, but the service was good.

Want to experience Zark's Burgers?
They are located at the Ground Floor of SM City Fairview Annex.

Chowking's Happy Pao

I need to get to the office early one time, since I'm a bit hungry and was craving for siopao, I thought I would pass by one of the fast food chains at the mall.

Yes, I went to Chowking. Was planning to get two large chunky asado siopao (not obvious that I'm that hungry), but the girl at the counter said there's only one left, and then she offered me the happy pao.

I looked at the menu board and was hesitant at first, there were two variants, the Porky Pao, which has the same filling as the chunky asado siopao and the Panda Pao, that has a chocolate filling. I don't know how long I was standing infront of the counter before I decided to get the Porky pao (good thing there's no one behind me, :) )

And indeed, this Porky pao did not fail my taste buds, It was really good! Though it was only on its merienda size, but there's so much asado filling inside.

For only P39.00 for ala carte orders, and P49.00 if you wanted to have drinks with it. They are also offering it for P117.00 for 3 pieces of Happy Pao (any variant).

The presentation of these siopao really attracts people to buy it even though they are not available on large sizes, and it's a good take home for the kids too!

I'll be trying the Panda Pao next time. And hoping they could have these in large sizes in the future.

So, which of the Happy Pao is your favorite?

Team Lunch at Guevarra's

The food lovers most awaited prize, our team lunch!

BACK TRACK:
From the "Kasalang Bayan 2014" blog, we won the grand prize of 2500.00php. Instead of dividing the amount amongst us, we agreed to have a team lunch instead.

And with the help of our bff G (google.com), we decided to try Chef Laudico Guevarra's.

The place was an old house which the Laudico's bought through a friend, since the place really has a relaxing ambiance which is what they wanted to have for a new restaurant, they kept the original style of the house as it is, with some minor renovations made.

We were aiming for this one room with the round table, but another group was able to reserve it ahead of us. You can do walk-in, but I highly suggest to make a reservation. We had our schedule on a Monday lunch (July 14 to be exact), but still, there were a lot of people who had made their reservations for a Monday.

Our table, good for 6 to 8 guests.

The part of the buffet table, this is one of the things I really need to improve on. Once I got near the buffet table, I automatically get a plate, then I would realize I need to take some pictures. :D

My plate, with the famous Angus Beef Tapa, which is really good! The Lumpiang Shanghai, and I just loved how they cooked the Grilled Squid, it's soft and easy to chew, not like the usual na makunat. Of course, the shrimp always gets into my plate. :)

Pardon me for this picture, I already had a taste of this Brazo de Mercedes before taking the picture (again, one of my weakness).

The Ice Cream, they only have two flavors though, Vanilla and Chocolate. Hope they could have more flavors in the future. And it's not the one's like you need to scoop it, but the ones in those ice cream dispensers like in those fast food chains. Both flavors were good, but more options on ice cream flavors would be better.

The Friend Chicken Adobo was good, but I found it a bit dry. The Beef Caldereta, the beef was cooked just fine, loved it as well.

They also have an outdoor setting, which is fine as long as it doesn't rain of course.
